3 Navajo Items

1. There is no word in the Navajo language for "time" in the sense of duration of time. You can't say literally, "We do not have enough time to do that". Nor can you say, "Time hangs heavy on my hands". You can say, " We will eat breakfast at dawn.". I am sure that modern res Indians have adopted a Spanish or English word for "time" but the pure Navajo did not have one.

2. There is a mild social stigma attached to being more prosperous than other members of your clan. The richer you are the greater the stigma.

3. Navajos normally curse in English or Spanish. They say that Navajo is very unsatisfactory for profanity because it is too detailed and specific a language.
