American History

 

 

I heard today (and I heard it twice) on Fox News that a survey revealed that no single major northeastern U.S. University requires that a student take a course in American History. Also that less than one third of these universities even offer a course in the history of Western Civilization. One university administrator made the remark that teaching the history and values of Western Civilization was passé. All of this less than one week after I learned that the University of Texas has turned what we use to call English Composition 101 into a political indoctrination course concerning cultural diversity called English Composition 306 and requires no other course in English Composition.

I tell you this without comment. It is your world now.
