About
Gregor Everitt

Otherwise known as
That Which Provides Food, Grrregor, or Fr. Angus O'Sodom MacGomorragh,
I currently reside in Madison, Wisconsin, where I edit books and journals
in English and Spanish, write this and that (at the moment, this), serve
as cohost on Psychoacoustics
(8-11PM Central Time, every Thursday save the first Thursday of the
month, WORT, 89.9 FM, Madison),
grow basil and morning glories and other things, practice Santería,
and read Tarot cards, palms, charts, bus schedules, and good books only.
This site began in
2001 (actually, late 2000) as a way to flex my literary muscles. A number
of intervening events caused me to leave the gym, as it were, and thus
what you find here is an archive of where I was and who I was while
I was there back then. Some of my writing still pleases me, and some
of it embarrasses me now, but it is what it is. At some point I may
add more, but given that I would like to get published--on paper, by
a publisher--and publishers tend to decline previously published material,
even if the so-called publishing occurred online, chances are that substantial
pieces won't show up on this site. (If you are a publisher, literary
agent, or other industry mover-and-shaker, I promise to be very, very
nice to you should you wish to speak with me regarding possible future
projects.) BUTCH, my iguana, serves as the figurehead/mouthpiece/conceit
of this site, mainly because I wanted to distance myself, even during
my salad days, from a few of the sentiments offered herein. Well, the
gig is up. If you choose to contact me, be ye literary agent or not,
be assured of a cordial response, as I'm much more polite and humble
than my favorite lizard, who still rules imperious and aloof from her
perch.
I hope you enjoy your
trip through BUTCH's site. It's been nice typing at you, but I have
to write something else now. May all be well and good with you and yours.
